WHO IS TARIQ
Tariq is a successful retail and management expert trusted by industry leaders worldwide. Starting on the retail sales floor in 1983, Tariq steadily worked his way up from department supervisor to mid-manager to corporate management, while continually honing his skills along the way.
He managed large retail stores, delivered bottom line results by cost control and developing strong teams. He is known for improving poor performing stores, opening new retail establishments within budget and time frame, training and development of General Managers, Supervisors and high potential managers for large retailers in the United States. He developed a number of courses and training workshops in partnership with senior management.
For 14 years Tariq served as the director of the Asian American Resource Center at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA). He provided a life-line to the Center through an era of budgetary upheaval and coordinated outstanding forums and symposia which received national recognition. Tariq served as the chair for the faculty advisory board for the center and advised student clubs and organizations.
Tariq holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from CSULA and a Certificate in the Executive Management Program from Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Tariq has developed curriculum for courses in Retail management and Import-Export Business for LA International College. He is a frequent lecturer at local universities and in South East Asia.
